What's wrong with this picture?

Is that my door?

I have been looking thru blog's all night and at 2am it hits me why my bathroom looks different. I just emailed my PM asking Do I have the wrong shower door? I have the alt owners bath with seat yet my shower has sliding doors and NOT a swing glass door.
Now I ask my blog family do I have the wrong door to your knowledge?

  1. It doesn't look right to me. All of the showers in the upgraded bathrooms at the Rome models and even in ours its a swing door and not a sliding door.

  2. I like the sliding door since it has a towel rack on it. Now you have someplace to hang the towels for when you get out the shower. The towel rack located over the tub is only useful for decorative towels.

    1. I agree that it could be useful as a place to hang your towel, but only a dry towel. Anything heavier would put too much strain on the handle. It's not the best quality.

  3. The model home in our neighborhood has a sliding door, but we were pleasantly surprised to see they installed a swing door in our home. I live with a sliding door now and do not like it at all. Granted, it's older, but still--those doors can come off the tracks and it's a real pain. I wonder if it's an area-specific decision or if they ordered the wrong door.

  4. The floor plan shows a swinging door and I like that option more then sliding doors. It's upsetting because my tile work looks so nice yet not the door. Then there is the question of which one did I pay for!

  5. I would talk to your PM and SR. We asked this question of our SR when going through the buying process and she said that it could very by region. For example, even without the upgraded shower in our area, the glass company that they use only does swinging doors. But I agree, you should definitely bring it up.

  6. If you don't think it is right definitely talk to your SR and PM! If I had a shower I'd prefer the swinging door too.

  7. We got the updated bath as well, and it came with a sliding door. We utilize the towel racks daily, and so far no issues after being in the home for five months.

    1. If the door is correct then the towel rack will be appreciated! I worry about the sliders popping off the tracks?

    2. So far no issues with that either, it slides easily on the track. I asked the sales rep about it when I noticed we had a sliding door, and she stated that it was the door that came with the Rome in our community.

  8. If you have a problem with this door you should definitely bring it to their attention right away.

I've seen so many things where Ryan Homes does something lots of different ways that nothing surprises me any more.

If there is any little detail about your home you want to be specific make sure you speak up. Don't assume anything you think you are getting is what you are really getting. Lesson learned the hard way over many different issues during our build.
